Peking University, March 31, 2023: The 2022 ICPC Asia-East Continent Final Contest, also known as the Huawei Cup, took place from March 24 to 26 at Shanghai University. After intense competition and rigorous evaluation, a team of three undergraduates from Peking University won the championship. Wang Zhangpeng and Jiang Lingyu from the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science, along with Luo Yuxiang from the School of Mathematical Sciences, formed the winning team. It's noteworthy that this is their second time winning the ICPC title.

The ICPC is a global programming competition for college students, directly organized by the American Computer Society (ACM) since 1970. The competition requires three players to work as a team to solve 13 sophisticated mathematical problems in just five hours, using programming languages like C/C++, Java, and Python. The winner is determined by the highest number of correct answers, as well as the shortest duration. Another restriction is that only one computer is shared among the team, which challenges not only their professional skills in computer science but also emphasizes the importance of teamwork and psychological resilience.


A total of 314 outstanding teams from 150 universities, 12 middle schools, and 4 enterprises participated in the competition. 28 teams were awarded gold medals, with 56 silver medalists and 84 bronze medalists.
