The Unveiling Ceremony 

Peking University, May 6, 2024: An unveiling ceremony of the west gate of Yandongxinyuan was held on May 3, 2024, as part of a series of celebrations of Peking University (PKU)'s 126th anniversary, which fell on May 4. 

Situated on the eastern side of the main campus, Yandongxinyuan encompasses the premises of various academic units including the School of Physics, College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, School of Engineering, School of Materials Science and Engineering, College of Future Technology, Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies, Peking University Press, and other associated facilities.


The inauguration of the new campus gate, witnessed by School leaders, including PKU Council Chair Hao Ping and President Gong Qihuang, as well as some 70 teacher and student representatives, stands as a pivotal milestone in the annals of campus development, epitomizing the collaborative efforts of the entire university community. 

This momentous occasion signifies the progression of the Yandongxinyuan integration project into a new phase. It also heralds a fresh era for the enhancement of PKU’s campus ambiance and its educational pursuits.
