Peking University Guanghua School of Management and Carnegie Mellon Tepper School of Business Sign Memorandum of Understanding

Peking University, December 17, 2024: On December 12, 2024, Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management and Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking the beginning of a significant and long-term academic partnership.

The ceremony, held at Guanghua School of Management, was attended by Oliver Hahl, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs at Tepper, Jennifer Wegner, Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Programs, and Diane Rulke, Distinguished Service Professor of Organizational Behavior and Theory. Guanghua’s Associate Dean Qiaowei Shen warmly welcomed the delegation and hosted discussions on the future of their collaboration.
The MOU signifies a mutual commitment between the two institutions to advance global education and promote innovative approaches to management training. Both schools have emphasized the importance of integrating cutting-edge technologies and fostering the development of globally competent leaders who are prepared to navigate the rapidly evolving business landscape.
During the meeting, Associate Dean Qiaowei Shen highlighted Guanghua’s 40-year history and its strong commitment to international collaboration. She emphasized the school’s recent initiatives aimed at integrating technological advancements into management education, equipping students to navigate the challenges of a rapidly evolving digital and global business landscape. Associate Dean Shen also noted that this partnership with Tepper would open up new opportunities for both institutions to collaborate and innovate in education.
Associate Dean Oliver Hahl expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and praised Guanghua’s innovative programs, particularly the “Future Leaders” international undergraduate program. He highlighted Tepper’s focus on developing quantitative skills and its balanced approach to integrating management and technology within the curriculum. Associate Dean Hahl also expressed a keen interest in expanding exchange opportunities for both Tepper and Guanghua students, encouraging cross-campus experiences to enhance their global perspectives.
The discussions covered various avenues for collaboration, including undergraduate and MBA programs, executive education, exchange initiatives, and summer courses. Both institutions agreed that the MOU marks a significant step in advancing their international strategies, with a shared focus on preparing students to thrive in an ever-evolving business world. By combining academic resources and innovative teaching methods, the partnership aims to cultivate globally-minded leaders who understand the intersection of technology and business and are equipped to drive sustainable growth.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Mo Shujun, Assistant Dean and Director of the Global
Affairs Office at Guanghua, Wang Dongxia, Assistant Dean and Executive Director of the MBA Program at Guanghua, along with other faculty and staff members from both institutions.
This partnership marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for both Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management and Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business, offering valuable opportunities for students, faculty, and the broader academic and business communities.
