Peking University, February 12, 2025: Led by coaches Zhang Jian and Ma Zhenyu, Peking University Men’s Basketball Team arrived in Serbia on January 14, 2025 for ten days of training, with an aim to further hone their skills, improve their cardio and refine their teamwork by learning from the best in Serbia.

Internationally renowned for its basketball culture and top-notch training systems, Serbia has fostered a number of basketball titans who flared and blazed like shooting stars across the international stage. Having trained on such a fertile breeding ground for excellence, the Peking University players have seized the valuable opportunity to grow their skills to enviable heights.

Besides training basketball, the team also paid a visit to the ruins of the Chinese embassy in former Yugoslavia, where they laid wreaths of flowers and stood in silence in honor of the fallen martyrs who sacrificed themselves for truth and justice.

The team also went to the VIZURA training center located in Zemun, a county in Serbia, where multiple Serbian national team players once trained, including the NBA star Nikola Jokić. There the team met with their Serbian coach and played a match with the local KK Boevuk basketball club, where the Chinese players showcased their vigor and strength while learning tactical skills from their Serbian counterparts.

On the last day of the trip, the Peking University team attended a basketball match of the Euroleague Basketball where the fast-paced game, the impressive skills of the players, the fiery excitement of the audience all left them with an indelible impression.

A landmark event on their training journey, this Serbia trip has gone a long way towards helping the team not only hone their endurance and skills, but also build mental fortitude and team solidarity, with which they will forge ahead and make more astounding achievements in the future.
