Peking University, May 2, 2018: Since April 25, 2018, the Institute of Humanities and Social Science of Peking University (IHSS) has hosted an exhibition commemorating the Former presidents and the history of Peking University. The exhibition, open to teaching staff, students, alumni and the public, is located in Jingyuan Courtyard No.2 (静园二院). It lasts until June 15, 2018. As the title Former Presidents and the History of Peking University suggests, the exhibition aims to highlight Peking University’s past and its contributions as part of the celebrations marking the 120th anniversary of PKU.

President Yan (Yan Fu), President Cai (Cai Yuanpei), President Jiang(Jiang Menglin) and President Hu (Hu Shi) are the highlights of this exhibition in which old photos, letters and information of them are shown. However, not only the leaders of PKU are shown, the floor plans of the old campuses, which were scattered into different part of Beijing City, are also displayed in the exhibition.

Nowadays, despite the disappearance of its old campuses and the its relocation, PKU is still the place where its heirs pass the traditions: Freedom of thought, acceptance, moderation and striving for excellence. IHSS envisages the visitors to comprehend the spirit of PKU by showing the appearance of PKU back in the old days.
