PKU students and staff took part in blood donation actively
Dec 04, 2011

Peking University, Nov. 28: On Nov. 24, the last blood donation of this semester, organized by PKU Hospital, PKU Student Union, Student Red Cross Society and Beijing Red Cross Blood Center, was held at the east side of Student Dormitory No.32 from 8:30 to 16:00 on Nov. 24 and 25.

Although the weather was not so fine, it didn’t influence the enthusiasm of Peking University (PKU) students and staff. At 8 o’clock in the morning, the motor vehicle equipped for blood collection came into the campus. Many students arrived there early and started to donate their blood with the help and guidance of volunteers.

In order to reduce the time participants spend in waiting in line, working staff provided reservation service in Campus Restaurants (Western-style) from 18:00 to 21:00 on Nov.21 and 22. Filling in the form in advance enabled the participants to donate their blood conveniently without waiting for too long on Nov. 24 and 25.

In fact, it is not rare to see this kind of meaningful activity held on PKU campus and the enthusiasm of students and staff has never changed. For example, on Mar. 7 this year, many girls took part in a blood-donation activity held by PKU Student Union and Student Red Cross Society, to spend an unforgettable “Girls’ Festival”. On Sept. 28 and 29, another blood donation activity was held in PKU, during which the reservation system was initiated and the efficiency of donation was greatly promoted.
