Peking University, Aug. 8, 2012: Li Wen, an assistant professor at Wayne State University and alumnus of the class 1996 of PKU, was named as one of the recipients of the Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers, according to White House website on July 23, 2012.

Established by President Clinton in 1996, the Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers is the highest honor bestowed by the United States Government on science and engineering professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers. Awardees are selected for their pursuit of innovative research at the frontiers of science and technology and their commitment to community service as demonstrated through scientific leadership, public education, or community outreach.

Dr. Li Wen graduated from the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of Peking University in 2000 and pursued his Ph.D. at Stony Brook University in US. After obtaining his doctor degree in 2006, he then carried out his postdoc research at the University of Colorado. He serves as an assistant professor at Wayne State University since 2009. Li’s research includes developing and applying novel probes to study reaction dynamics at their most detailed level, which plays a dominant role in reactions relevant to physics, chemistry and biology.
