Peking University, August 6, 2012: PKU student Lei Sheng beat Alaaeldin Abouelkassem of Egypt 15-13 to win Olympic gold in the men’s individual foil in London on July 31, 2012.
It is the first Olympic gold medal in men’s foil for China’s men’s foil team and the 11th gold medal in the 30th Olympic Games for Chinese Sports delegation.
Lei Sheng, an undergraduate student of class 2009 in School of Journalism and Communication at Peking University, is a member of China’s men’s foil team. He won individual gold in the Portuguese Fencing World Cup in 2006 and team champion in the world foil championship and Guangzhou Asian Games in 2010.
