Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to China Farhod Arziev visits Peking University

Peking University, January 10, 2024: The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to China, Farhod Arziev, visited Peking University (PKU) on Jan. 8, 2024. Ambassador Arziev was received by Gong Qihuang, president of PKU, and Ning Qi, vice council chair and vice president of PKU, at Linhuxuan.

In his welcome address, President Gong highlighted that Uzbekistan is an important partner of China in the Belt and Road Initiative, and he believed that under the strong support of the two governments, China-Uzbekistan cooperation, especially in the field of education, would reach new heights. Peking University's School of Foreign Languages, Sino-Russian Mathematics Center, and the New Structural Economics Institute have established strong ties with many institutions in Uzbekistan. President Gong looked forward to further expanding the scale of exchanges between the two sides and deepening the areas of cooperation in order to promote the further development of China-Uzbekistan higher education.

Ambassador Arziev expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from Peking University. He reviewed the long history of friendship and exchanges between Uzbekistan and China. He emphasized that the two heads of state met several times last year and reached an agreement to further deepen bilateral relations, especially in the field of education. He said that Peking University is a world-renowned university, and Uzbek universities are willing to deepen engagements with Peking University in areas such as cultural exchanges and science and technology.
