Peking University, September 15, 2024:
On September 10th 2024, a delegation from Waseda University, led by Executive Vice President Yoshihiro Watanabe and Vice President Masahiko Gemma, visited Peking University. Fang Fang, Peking University’s Vice President, extended a warm welcome to the guests at Linhuxuan.
Fang noted the long-standing partnership between Peking University and Waseda University since its formal establishment in 1982, specifically highlighting the notable achievements in promoting faculty and student exchanges as well as cooperative programs in education and research. He emphasized that PKU places great importance on the relationship between the two universities and will fully support research and exchanges in the various disciplines, especially in the field of international sinology.
On behalf of Waseda, Watanabe thanked PKU for the warm reception. He reaffirmed the long-standing relationship between Waseda and Peking, introduced the recent achievements and future plans of collaboration between the two universities, and looked forward to deepening the collaboration further.
The meeting was also attended by Niu Dayong, Co-Dean of Peking University and Waseda University Confucius Institute; Ding Li, Department Head of Japanese in PKU School of Foreign Languages; Li Yun, Director of Office of International Relations; and Cui Ji, Deputy Director of the PKU Office of International Relation.
