Vice-Chancellor of University of Malaya visits PKU

Peking University, March 26, 2025: On March 19, 2025, Professor Noor Azuan Abu Osman, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Malaya (UM), led a delegation to visit PKU, where they were warmly welcomed by Gong Qihuang, President of Peking University, together with Vice President Fang Fang and other school officials at Linhuxuan.
Gong reflected on the long-standing exchanges between PKU and Malaysian institutions and highlighted PKU’s recent achievements in education, scientific research, and international development. He also expressed hopes in deepening collaboration between across various disciplines, particularly in the emerging fields of engineering such as “AI + New Materials”. This would further support the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Azuan noted the long-standing relations between Malaysia and China, as well as the growing ties between their academic communities. Noting UM’s strong commitment to internationalization in recent years, he hopes to strengthen academic and research partnerships with PKU, thereby paving the way for a new chapter in bilateral cooperation.
