Coinciding with the 75th anniversary of China-Denmark diplomatic relations, Egebart’s trip saw the signing of a Strategic Sector Cooperation agreement with China’s National Health Commission that will pave the way for cooperation in healthcare from 2025 to 2028.

The two countries have been carrying out Strategic Sector Cooperation programs since 2019 — collaborating on critical areas such as animal husbandry, dairy production, safe and green maritime shipping, and water management.

Welcomed by Yue Weihua, Vice President of PKU Sixth Hospital, Egebart learned about operations at the hospital, China’s mental health development, and China-Denmark cooperation in healthcare. The two sides also discussed on a range of issues including improving mental healthcare and hospital ward construction.
