Peking University, May 26, 2025: Sirichai Fonseka, President of Assumption University of Thailand, recently led a delegation to Peking University (PKU), marking a significant step towards strengthening academic and cultural ties between China and Thailand.

The delegation was warmly received by Fang Fang, Vice President of PKU, who highlighted the longstanding relationship between Peking University and Thai institutions. 

Fang noted that 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, and expressed hope for deeper academic cooperation to further promote cultural exchanges in the years ahead.


Mr. Fonseka expressed his appreciation for the warm reception, and commended the longstanding friendship between the two nations. He reaffirmed Assumption University’s strong commitment to internationalization, and expressed interest in exploring joint initiatives in discipline development and academic research, with the aim of creating a dynamic ecosystem for cultural and technological cooperation.

During the visit, the Assumption University delegation participated in the academic workshop “Rural Asia: Digital Creativity and Local Sustainable Development” hosted by the PKU School of Arts, where they engaged in meaningful discussions. 

The visit was also attended by representatives from various PKU departments and administrative offices.
