Peking University, September 23, 2025: On September 12, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ambassador to China Abdulrahman Al-harbi visited Peking University to explore broader areas for cooperation amid the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Extending a warm welcome to the ambassador, Jiang Guohua, Vice Chair of PKU Council, highlighted the outstanding achievements from the sustained collaboration between PKU and institutions in Saudi Arabia. He then reaffirmed PKU’s commitment to working hand in hand with Saudi Arabia to further contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative and Saudi Vision 2030.

Ambassador Al-harbi lauded the role of the university and that of King Abdulaziz Public Library Branch in Peking University in promoting mutual learning and cultural exchange between the two countries. He said that as Saudia Arabia highly values educational cooperation with China, the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in China will continue to support and broaden academic cooperation and exchanges between PKU and the Middle Eastern kingdom.

After the meeting, the ambassador did a keynote speech and engaged in an in-depth discussion with faculty and students, further exchanging views on cultural and educational collaboration.
