Delegation from Chiang Mai University Visits Peking University

Peking University, October 31, 2025: On the afternoon of October 27, a delegation led by Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, President of Chiang Mai University (CMU), visited Peking University to explore deeper cooperation opportunities, as part of a broader effort to strengthen bilateral ties between China and Thailand amid the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations. 

The delegation was received at Linhuxuan by He Guangcai, Chair of PKU Council, and Fang Fang, Vice President of PKU.

He Guangcai quoted President Xi Jinping as saying that China-Thailand friendship has stood the test of time and that both countries need to build on past achievements to strengthen a community with a shared future.

He also pointed out that PKU had accelerated its efforts in building a world-class education hub with global influence, and expressed hope to expand cooperation with CMU in cultural and educational exchanges.

Pongruk Sribanditmongkol then introduced the history and achievements of CMU and praised PKU’s various accomplishments. He looked forward to the deepening of cooperation between the two universities in academics and people-to-people exchanges, as an effort to strengthen ties between Thailand and China.

Following the meeting, Fang Fang and Tanyanuparb Anantana, Vice President of CMU, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), initiating a new age of partnership between the two universities.
