Economic Minister at the South Korean Embassy in China Kim Jin-dong visits PKU

Peking University, May 29, 2026: On May 26, Kim Jin-dong, economic minister at the South Korean Embassy in China, paid an official visit to Peking University. Dong Zhiyong, vice president of Peking University, met with the delegation at the Yingjie Overseas Exchange Center.

Dong Zhiyong shared that Peking University has long-term partnerships with various sectors of South Korea, with events such as the Beijing Forum and Korea-China Economic Development Forum serving as important platforms for high-level academic dialogue. He welcomed scholars from both sides to engage in academic exchanges on cutting-edge topics like artificial intelligence and the digital economy.

In his reply, Kim Jin-dong stated that the Korea-China economic and trade cooperation is deeply rooted, and has enormous potential particularly in youth and academic exchanges. He expressed appreciation for Peking University's efforts in promoting international academic dialogue, and looked forward to further enhancing people-to-people and scholarly exchanges.

During the visit, Kim Jin-dong also delivered an academic lecture titled "The Current Status and Future of the Korean Economy and Korea-China Economic Cooperation" to students enrolled in the Korean Economy course.
