Peking University, September 8, 2026: A delegation from two universities in Uzbekistan visited Peking University on September 3 to discuss further cooperation in mathematics.
The delegation included Zafar Ibragimov, vice-rector of Urgench Ranch University of Technology and former vice-rector of Urgench State University, and Alimardon Alamuratov, vice-rector of Urgench State University. Fang Fang, vice president of PKU, met with the guests at Linhuxuan.
Fang welcomed the delegation and highlighted the Peking-Urgench International Mathematics Center as an important outcome of PKU’s cooperation with Uzbek universities. He expressed hope that the two sides could build on the center’s progress to expand academic exchanges and explore new areas of collaboration.
The Uzbek representatives shared recent developments at their universities and in their mathematics programs. They praised the progress of the Peking-Urgench International Mathematics Center and expressed interest in deepening cooperation with PKU in academic exchange and mathematics education and training.
