Peking University, October 2, 2026: Miriam Nicado García, a Cuban government official and rector of the University of Havana, led a delegation to Peking University (PKU) on September 24 to further strengthen academic exchanges and cooperation between the two universities.

The delegation was received by Fang Fang, vice president of PKU, at Linhuxuan.

Welcoming Nicado and her delegation, Fang highlighted the longstanding friendship between China and Cuba, noting that educational and people-to-people exchanges have long been an important part of bilateral relations.

Pointing to the close ties between PKU and the University of Havana, Fang expressed hope that the two universities would further expand student exchanges, leverage their respective academic strengths, and deepen research collaboration across a wider range of fields.

Nicado thanked PKU for its warm hospitality and reaffirmed the University of Havana's commitment to its longstanding partnership with PKU. She noted the strong foundation the two institutions have built in talent development and academic exchange.

She also expressed hope that the two sides would deepen mutual learning in language education while expanding teaching and research cooperation to a broader range of academic disciplines.
