Peking University, October 14, 2026: On October 9, George Loh, associate vice president at the National University of Singapore (NUS), led a delegation to Peking University (PKU). PKU Executive Vice President Zhang Jin received the delegation at Linhuxuan. The two sides discussed future collaboration between the universities and the development of the PKU-NUS Centre for Applied Sciences.
Zhang emphasized the importance PKU places on its partnership with NUS. He noted that the PKU-NUS Centre for Applied Sciences has carried out collaboration across three core areas: new materials and advanced manufacturing, climate change and sustainable development, and life sciences and health. The collaboration has since expanded to include joint publications, academic exchanges, and joint student training.
Loh thanked PKU for its hospitality and noted that the jointly established center has drawn significant attention from the governments of both countries. He expressed hope that the two institutions will deepen research across the three core areas, broaden the scope of collaboration, and encourage more faculty members to conduct joint research through the center. He also proposed using the center as a platform to secure funding and other support from a wider range of sources.
