My dream came true
The long-awaited Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics was finally made possible on February, despite of all the challenges that China encountered in the context of the Covid-19 global pandemic. Watching the Olympics on site is a once-in-a-lifetime chance. Thanks to the Government of the People's Republic of China, Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Peking University, my dream came true.
Moments of my participation in Beijing Winter Olympics Year-2022 Opening Ceremony and Speed Skating Competition
For me this event will be a memorable one as I participate in it at first hand and live. My feelings are complicated and can hardly be expressed via language. I was touched by the care and love of the Chinese people at the moment when we entered the National Stadium "Bird Nest" where the opening ceremony was held, when I watched the performances of seamless transitions and when I felt the flawless and fluent arrangements during the event. I am impressed by the kindness and the professionalism of the Chinese people.
What is it like to watch live?
Watching Chinese Women's team Competing in Olympic Speed Skating
Watching Gao Tingyu storming to set an Olympic record time to win the first Olympic gold medal of his career and the first ever gold medal for China in Olympic Speed Skating Competition
I realized that watching a sports competition live is a totally different experience when I got the opportunity to watch Speed Skating competition on February 12 – before that I only watched it on television. I was lucky enough to watch the competition in which China won its first gold medal in speed skating and set a new Olympic record too.
I always wondered how they manage to prepare and maintain such a track made of ice and now, and on that day, I witnessed it live. I was very impressed by skills and efficiencies of the Chinese staff and their technologies adopted in the maintenances.
Together for a shared future
An emotional moment to see my country's athletes and Team Pakistan
Friendship between China and Pakistan is a vivid example of the slogan Together for a shared future. The world recognizes us as all-weather friends and terms us as "Iron Brothers". I felt the love of Chinese People for Pakistan from their applauses of welcomes when Team Pakistan entered the arena – such friendship I will never forget.
Together for a Shared Future
"Together for a Shared Future" is a message that China delivers to the world. In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, it has never become more urgent and possible than it is today. The Chinese government and the staff endeavor to bring about a safe and successful event, my alma mater Peking University has also dispatched hundreds of volunteers to contribute to it.
