The entire nation was deeply moved by the story of three-year-old Lang back in 2008. Trapped amidst the debris of the devastating earthquake, he offered a heartwarming salute to the brave soldiers who came to his rescue. A photograph captured that powerful moment, which quickly resonated with people across the country, triggering an outpouring of emotion and compassion.

Growing up in a military family, Lang's parents instilled in him the values of courage and gratitude from an early age. It comes as no surprise that, in the face of danger, he instinctively saluted his rescuers. Following the earthquake, Lang and his family remained indebted to those who had extended kindness to them, maintaining close ties with their saviors. Today, having excelled in the college entrance examination, Lang is determined to contribute positively to society and reciprocate the generosity he has received.

The earthquake had left lasting scars on Lang's body. As a police officer, his father, recognizing the healing power of sports, encouraged him to engage in physical activities to overcome his pain and build confidence. Consequently, every Friday after school, father and son bonded over basketball matches, fostering optimism and new friendships. Lang's passion for sports flourished, earning him several medals, including ones for basketball and table tennis, shaping him into the tall and handsome 1.85-meter man he is today.

On the long road of learning and seeking knowledge, Lang also keeps going and surpassing himself constantly. His high school teacher was deeply impressed by his unyielding perseverance and determination. Throughout his remarkable growth, Lang has remained humble and unassuming despite the spotlight on his journey. It is precisely this persistent humility and integrity that have fueled his remarkable progress, earning him the admiration and support of countless well-wishers who have cheered him on from the sidelines.

Prior to the college entrance examination, Lang Zheng had set his sights on majoring in international politics, and through years of hard work and dedication, he fulfilled this ambition. "The admission letter from Peking University is a testament to my eighteen years of unwavering effort. Peking University has always been my dream school. I will continue to study diligently and strive to be worthy of the expectations and support bestowed upon me," he said.
