Peking University, April 28, 2022: On April 15, the inauguration of the National Engineering Research Center and the Innovation Association were held in the lecture hall of Peking University School of Stomatology (PKUSS).
Jin Xiaotao, chairman of the Chinese Medical Information and Big Data Association, and Academician Qiao Jie, PKU vice executive president and president of PKU Health Science Center, together unveiled the plate of the National Engineering Research Center (NERC).
Deng Xuliang, vice dean of PKUSS, read out NERC’s four co-building units, 83 units, and 46 enterprises, and expressed a warm welcome to their joining.
After the inauguration, a symposium titled “Innovation Driving a Healthy Oral Cavity, Translation Leading a High-quality Development” was held, with more than 13,000 stomatologists from home and abroad participating online and offline.
Five academicians were invited to make special speeches in the morning session of the symposium. Among them, Academician Wang Cunyu from the School of Dentistry of University of California, Los Angeles introduced the research in translational application of bone regeneration and repair. Academician Chai Yang from Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of University of South Carolina introduced the research in genetic and epigenetic regulation during tooth root development.
Nine famous scholars from domestic schools and colleges of stamotology shared their research findings in the afternoon session, which was both brilliant and inspiring.
