Peking University, May 16, 2022: On April 21, Peking University (PKU) Vice President Wang Bo and the Vice President University of Notre Dame (ND) Michael Pippenger met online to renew the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and had a deep discussion on the state of cooperation between the two universities.

At the beginning of the meeting, Wang and Pippenger renewed the MoU.

 

Pippenger expressed great gratitude to Peking University for supporting mutual cooperation between the two universities. He mentioned that PKU is an important partner for ND and renewing the MoU opens up a new chapter for future collaboration. ND appreciated that PKU actively responded to ND during the pandemic by providing offline learning opportunities for students who were unable to go to ND in the 2020 fall semester. He looks forward to further people-to-people and academic exchanges.

Wang Bo said that he was very delighted to meet with Pippenger online and renew the MoU. The two universities still maintain a wide-ranging partnership during the pandemic. Not only does this showcase the continued communication in the fields of education and research, it also highlights the friendship between the two universities. Wang Bo mentioned that both PKU and ND carry significant social responsibilities as universities. The cooperation between universities can act as a bridge to enhance understanding among youth and scholars, so as to discover new common ground. PKU is willing to explore new fields of cooperation with ND in liberal arts, financial management, new engineering, medicine and the like.
 

During the discussion, the two universities exchanged in-depth views on their future cooperation projects, and reached the consensus that both would explore new areas of cooperation.
