Prof. Meng Jie

Prof. Meng has been committed to the research of nuclear physics and nuclear astrophysics for a long time and has achieved innovative achievements with international influence in the fields of nuclear chiral symmetry, unstable nuclear properties, relativistic density functional theory, and cosmic nucleosynthesis. He won the first prize of Natural Science in Chinese Universities in 2000 and 2013, the Wu Youxun Prize in 2007, the Khwarizmi International Award in 2008, Achievement in Asia Award Robert T Prize in 2009 and Genco Award in 2010 etc. Meng was also selected as a Distinguished Professor of Changjiang Scholars by the Ministry of Education in 1999, an American Physical Society (APS) Fellow in 2012, and a foreign academician of the Academia Europaea in 2018.

Established in 1972 by the Alexander Humboldt Foundation in Germany, the Humboldt Research Prize is specially awarded to outstanding foreign scholars who have made outstanding achievements in basic research, theoretical innovation, and discipline leadership, and are expected to achieve greater achievements in the future. Candidates must have proposed their original theories, or made major discoveries and inventions, made significant contributions to, and had a significant impact on their research fields. The award is highly prestigious and aims to recognize the outstanding academic achievements of the winners in scientific research and subject leadership in their respective fields.
