PKU125 | PKU unveils new COE edifice with 500 mln yuan donation from ENN Group

Peking University, May 4, 2023: On the occasion of Peking University's 125th anniversary, a strategic cooperation signing ceremony was held between PKU and ENN Group. The event also marked the unveiling of the new edifice for the College of Engineering (COE), which was named the "ENN Engineering Building" by its sponsor.

The signing ceremony was attended by leaders from PKU, including Hao Ping, chair of the PKU Council, Gong Qihuang, president of PKU, Wang Bo, vice president and provost of PKU, Sun Qingwei, vice president of PKU, Ning Qi, vice chair of the PKU Council, Zhang Jin, vice president of PKU, and representatives from the School. Wang Yusuo, chairman of ENN Group, led a delegation to PKU. About 150 teachers and students from COE were present to witness the signing ceremony.

During the event, Zhang Jin, Wang Yusuo, and Duan Huiling, dean of COE, delivered speeches, collectively expressing their expectations for deeper collaboration between PKU and ENN Group and their vision for promoting China's modernization through the development of emerging engineering.

The signing of a series of agreements between PKU and ENN Group marked a milestone in the bilateral cooperation between the two institutions. Notably, ENN Group pledged to provide a total of five hundred million yuan to support PKU's future development.

The unveiling ceremony

Hao Ping and Wang Yusuo jointly unveiled the ENN Engineering Building in front of the COE's new edifice, with Zhang Jun, co-chairman of the ENN Group Technical Committee, and Prof. Duan Huiling initializing the PKU-ENN Technology Innovation Center. The unveiling ceremony was presided over by Prof. Song Jie from COE. 

The second stage of cooperation between PKU and ENN Group builds on their first stage, which began in 2015, in order to construct the new edifice and conduct joint research and development projects. The renewed agreement aims to further mutual integration, leading technological innovation, and creating a new paradigm for China's college-enterprise cooperation.
