Dr. Qin Yue received her B.Eng., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees respectively from Beijing Normal University, Peking University, and Princeton University. She is currently a researcher and an Associate Professor (Tenure-Track) at the PKU College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering with a dual appointment at the PKU Institute of Carbon Neutrality. Qin Yue is also a PKU Boya Young Scholar and a candidate for the National High-Level Young Talent Program.

As an environmental scientist, Dr. Qin’s research explores the interactions among the energy system, the natural environment, and the human society to guide sustainable energy and agricultural policies under the influence of climate change. Her focus includes: 1) the multifaceted impacts of human activities on the natural system; and 2) the feedbacks of the natural system on human society. Her research projects have been published in a series of high-profile outlets, including Nature Climate Change (2022, 2020 featured cover article), Nature Sustainability (2019, 2018), and PNAS (2017).

Dr. Qin Yue has been awarded the Neil A. McConnell Fellowship in International Affairs for Promising Scholars at Princeton University for two consecutive years, and the Chinese American Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (COAA) Early Career Award. Furthermore, she served as an Associate Editor at Earth’s Future, Associate Deputy Director at Climate Change, Topic Editor at Earth System Science Data, Editorial Board member at Sustainable Horizons and other national and international journals.
