Peking University, December 20, 2024: On December 3, the 2024 Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award Conference was held at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, honoring 56 outstanding scientists. Among them, one faculty member and two alumni of Peking University (PKU) were recognized.

Professor Liu Ruochuan, from the PKU School of Mathematical Sciences, and alumnus Liu Guanghui, who graduated from PKU Health Science Center in 2002, received the Youth Innovation Award. Meanwhile, alumnus Lu Jian, who earned his doctorate from PKU Health Science Center in 2009, was awarded the Regional Innovation Award.
Professor Liu Ruochuan
Liu Ruochuan, an associate dean at the School of Mathematical Sciences and a Boya Distinguished Professor, specializes in arithmetic geometry and algebraic number theory. His notable achievements include contributions to the p-adic Hodge theory and self-consistent forms. He has also received several prestigious awards, including the National Outstanding Young Scientist Fund, the Chen Shengshen Prize in Mathematics, and Ramanujan Prize.
Liu Guanghui
Liu Guanghui is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, as well as a fellow of the International Union of Physiological Sciences' Physiology Section. He is a leading figure in cell biology and aging research, and has been honored with awards such as the Outstanding Scientific and Technological Achievement Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Special Award of the China Youth Science and Technology Award.
Professor Lu Jian
Lu Jian, a professor at PKU Third Hospital, focuses on urological oncology bio-imaging, with significant contributions to tumor metabolism big data, precision diagnosis and treatment decision-making models, as well as intelligent pathogenic genes and drug target screening. He has published 72 SCI papers as the primary author, which have been cited and reviewed multiple times by journals such as Science, NEJM, and Nature.
The Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation presents awards and prizes to citizens of the People’s Republic of China in recognition of their dedication, advancements, and innovations in the fields of science and technology. These awards reflect the outstanding contributions of the PKU faculty and alumni to the fields of science and technology, helping to promote scientific and technological development in China, while cultivating talents for independent innovation.
