PKU ranks second in QS World University Rankings for two subjects

Peking University, March 18, 2025: Two of Peking University’s subjects, Linguistics as well as Classics and Ancient History, were ranked the second best in the world by the latest QS World University Rankings, improving by 21 and 10 places respectively, owing to better academic and employer reputation.
The 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject evaluates universities based on key indicators such as academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper, and the H-index, which measures both productivity and impact of the published work.
This year’s rankings also revealed that a total of 217 disciplines from 29 mainland Chinese universities have ranked among the top 50 in the world, a strong testament to China’s significant investments in higher education and research over the past decade.
