Cooperation memorandum signed between PKUHSC and HKUST

Peking University, March 27, 2025: A strategic cooperation memorandum was recently signed between Qiao Jie, Executive Vice President of Peking University (PKU) and President of Peking University Health Science Center (PKUHSC), and Nancy Y. IP, President of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), marking a new step in the cooperation between the two schools on medical education and scientific research.
HKUST and PKUHSC have long been cooperating in teaching programs and research, jointly establishing the Shenzhen PKU-HKUST Medical Center in 2000 and launching a MD-PhD dual-degree program.
Under the new memorandum, the two schools will carry out more in-depth collaboration in joint teaching, information sharing, and academic exchanges, with a view to promoting reform in medical education.
In addition, the two schools will also deepen their research cooperation on precision medicine, biomedical engineering and prevention and treatment of major diseases, echoing the nation’s call to make more breakthroughs to contribute to public health.
