PKU Students Shine in Math Competition

Peking University. Beijing. Dec. 2nd, 2008: The 19th Beijing Mathematics Competition for University Students has recently drawn to an end. Peking University has stood out among many other universities with its dazzling performance: Ji Zhanglong, a junior student of Yuanpei College, and Deng Yu, a sophomore of School of Mathematical Sciences, were rewarded with the Special Awards of Team A, together with 36 other students from Yuanpei College and School of Physics taking away the first, second and third prizes. The University was also recognized and rewarded for its organization.

 

The competition was launched in mid September and officially held about a month later. Over 170 students from School of Physics, Yuanpei College, School of Engineering, School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science, College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, and School of Life Sciences, took part in the competition, making this year above and over all the years before.
