The Official WeChat Account of PKU Selected as a Top 100 Chinese New Media Account

Peking University, March 6, 2018: The opening ceremony of the First Top 100 national “2 Weis and 1 Port” (Weibo accounts, WeChat accounts, and smartphone applications of new media) selection was held at People’s Daily on February 6th, 2018. Among tens and thousands of official accounts, the official WeChat account of PKU successfully entered the Top 100 list, and won the “Top 10 WeChat Contribution Award”.
The award ceremony
The time span of the assessment and selection was 3 months, with the awarded chosen from approximately 10 million official WeChat accounts and 1.5 million official Weibo accounts of institutions, as well as 2 million smartphone applications developed and ran by enterprises in Mainland China. The assessment procedure includes statistical analysis in public, internet voting, evaluation by experts and so on. Finally, 30 WeChat accounts, 30 Weibo accounts, and 40 smartphone applications were awarded.
