PKUHSC signs Memorandum of Understanding with Massachusetts General Hospital Research Institute

Peking University, March 26, 2018: On March 16, Zhan Qimin, vice president of Peking University and president of Peking University Health Science Center (PKUHSC), met with the delegation from Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Research Institute, including Susan A. Slaugenhaupt, scientific director of MGH Research Institute, Gabriela Apiou, director of Translational Research Training and Development, experts in epidemiology, medical imaging, genomics and systematic biology, and leader of international projects from MGH. Zhang Ning, vice president of PKUHSC signed memorandum of understanding with Susan A. Slaugenhaupt as representatives from both sides. 


At the Meeting

Zhan Qimin extended a warm welcome for the delegation. Sun Qiudan introduced the medical teaching and research status of PKUHSC, while Susan A. Slaugenhaupt presented the basic information and research focus of MGH Research Institute.  Experts from each side exchanged opinions on epidemiology, medical imaging, genomics, tumors, mental disorders, and sports medicine. 


Signing the Memorandum of Understanding

Zhan Qimin remarked that the golden time for the development of medicine had come, and that PKUHSC was willing to cooperate with MGH on scientific collaborative projects, joint seminar, personnel training, and student exchange programs.  He hoped that the two sides would develop in-depth cooperation in certain areas on the basis of the memorandum.
