Fighting COVID-19: PKUSH Lu Lin joins WHO webinar to share China’s experience

Peking University, April 8, 2020: Lu Lin, president of Peking University Sixth Hospital (PKUSH), was invited by the World Health Organization (WHO) to participate in a video conference on April 1.

The webinar was attended by more than 20 medical experts respectively from universities and research institutions that include Oxford University, Harvard University, and Chinese University of Hong Kong. The attendees elaborated on the latest development of their research on COVID-19.
Lu introduced China's experience and research progress on dealing with the mental impact of the novel coronavirus outbreak. He also shared policies of offering mental health services during the COVID-19 outbreak and guidelines for the prevention and control of mental health crisis, which were both translated by PKUSH, to support the global battle against the pandemic.
Previously, Lu was entrusted by WHO to draw up a research and development roadmap of COVID-19 with other experts. The roadmap, which has been released on March 6, focuses on nine areas, i.e. the virus’ natural history, epidemiology, vaccines, diagnostics, therapeutics, clinical management, ethical considerations and social sciences, among others.
